I have lived here for 27 years and no road maintenance has taken place in that time. The road has badly deteriorated and I have tripped on that gap several times leading to cuts and bruises on my legs. I have MS which is getting worse and I can’t walk on the pavements because they are so bad. Now I can’t walk safely on the road adjacent to our driveway. It desperately needs fixing. In fact the whole road needs resurfacing. Thank you

This problem has been received by our Highways Team. We plan to inspect within 20 days and provide an update.

This problem has now been inspected. Limited Council resources mean that it is not possible to repair each and every defect, and we have to prioritise cases that pose the most risk to the public so a further assessment by officers is required. We hope to make a decision on this repair within the next 14 days and provide a further update. If this defect is selected for repair, our contractor will have a further 28 days to carry out the work

This defect was catogorised as medium priority defect. To maximise the benifit to be achived from available funding for medium priority defects we must prioritise locations of greater risk over others. Unfortunately on this occasion this defect was not prioritised for repair. However we will continue to monitor this on our scheduled cyclic inspections and should it deteriorate further will be reassessed for possible selection for repair.
