Dear Brent Council, I'm writing to report a serious obstruction caused by an overgrown tree at the bottom of Salisbury Road, on Premier Corner. The tree has grown so extensively that it now completely covers the footpath and is encroaching onto part of the adjacent bike lane, forcing pedestrians and cyclists into the road to get around it. This is a significant safety hazard, particularly for anyone with mobility issues, visually impaired pedestrians, parents with buggies, and cyclists who are being pushed into moving traffic to avoid the branches. I've attached a photo showing the extent of the overgrowth. I understand that recent works were carried out nearby to fix a pothole for vehicle traffic in this same area. While I appreciate that work, I'd urge the council to apply the same urgency to issues affecting pedestrians and cyclists. Active travel and pedestrian safety should be treated as at least as high a priority as road maintenance for vehicles. Could you please arrange for this tree to be pruned as a matter of priority, and let me know a timeframe for when this will be addressed? Thank you for your attention to this.
