Reported via mobile in the Street tree - Replacement request category anonymously at 16:41, Friday 12 June 2026
Sent to Brent Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9608894.
The council has been actively chopping down mature trees around the area, with no explanation as to why. Furthermore, in the past, even the stumps have been removed, despite their importance to rare invertebrates and to remaining trees. This does not seem to be a very green policy. Further, the top of college road, and where it joins Thirlmere, are basically devoid of trees. It is the only place around Preston park where no planting has taken place. Please stop removing old trees and plant some new ones at the top of college road. Please also don't use the same company to cut down trees and to plant new ones as it creates a perverse incentive for them to get rid of older trees and replace them with skinny saplings that will take decades to grow.
