Dear Brent Council,
I am writing to raise a serious and urgent complaint on behalf of residents regarding the extremely poor and deteriorating condition of one side of Wakemans Hill Avenue.
For several months now, the state of the pavements and surrounding areas has become completely unacceptable and deeply upsetting for those of us who live here. The pavement and public space have been allowed to fall into a dangerous and neglected condition, and it increasingly feels as though the situation has been ignored despite the clear risks and impact on residents.
The pavements are severely broken and uneven, with large tree roots pushing through the surface, creating significant trip hazards for pedestrians, particularly for elderly residents, children and parents with pushchairs. In several areas the pavement has become so degraded that walking along it safely is extremely difficult, forcing people to step onto the road in places.
Alongside the structural issues, the area has also become a frequent dumping ground for rubbish and fly-tipping, with bags of waste, broken glass and debris regularly left along the street. This makes the road look neglected, unsafe and unsanitary, and poses obvious safety concerns for residents and wildlife.
What makes this situation even more frustrating and upsetting for residents is that the nearby Highfield Avenue has recently undergone extensive pavement renovation and improvement works, leaving that street with newly repaired and safe pavements. Meanwhile, the condition of Wakemans Hill Avenue continues to deteriorate significantly, creating a stark and unfair contrast between neighbouring roads.
Residents therefore feel strongly that Wakemans Hill Avenue has been overlooked, despite the very clear need for urgent attention.
As a community, we are formally requesting that pavement repair works be carried out immediately. The current condition of the pavements presents clear safety risks, and the longer the issue is left unresolved, the worse the damage becomes.
We are asking Brent Council to urgently investigate and take action, including:
Immediate repair and resurfacing of the damaged pavements
Addressing the tree roots causing structural damage
Improving street cleaning and waste removal
Taking stronger action against ongoing fly-tipping
Assessing the overall condition of the road and surrounding public areas
Residents have reached a point where the situation is simply no longer tolerable, and we strongly urge the council to take swift and visible action to restore Wakemans Hill Avenue to a safe and respectable condition for those who live here.
We would appreciate confirmation that this complaint has been received and information on what steps will be taken to address these issues and within what timeframe.
Yours sincerely, A concerned resident of Wakemans Hill Avenue (on behalf of several local residents)

Unfortunately we do not have the resources to undertake ad hoc whole road inspections outside of our scheduled cyclic inspections.
However, we do carry out reactive inspections in response to the notification of specific defects so if these can be provided
( i.e. footway outside no.4 Logan Road ) then these can be logged for inspection and any investigation level defects raised and repairs arranged according to priority.State changed to: No further action
