Centre lines are worn and humps worn around bend causing cars not to slow down around bend causing a severe safety risk around this bend as cars drive very fast, this risk is large due to presence lf school and hospital on the road and the road being a 30mph road

  • Where a warning sign is provided, associated road markings must remain effective to reinforce driver behaviour. The worn centre line and degraded humps at this bend undermine the warning signage and create a foreseeable safety risk, particularly at night and in wet conditions.

  • This defect was categorised as medium priority defect. To maximise the benefit to be achieved from available funding for medium priority defects we must prioritise locations of greater risk over others. Unfortunately on this occasion this defect was not prioritised for repair. However, we will continue to monitor this on our scheduled cyclic inspections and should it deteriorate further will be reassessed for possible selection for repair.
