Sent to Brent Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8126854.
Previously closed as no defect found but added image here to illustrate defect. Google maps shows what the dropped kerb looked like when the road was rebuilt in 2020. Now it appears the resident has removed blocks from the pavement to make space for their car which sticks out. Or the car driving out is causing blocks to becoming loose and the resident is throwing them away. Either way we cannot let this continue. Further blocks will become loose if no reinforcement/paving edging is added. Can the missing blocks please be replaced and edging added to prevent loosening of blocks. Ideally a fluted bollard should also be added as the Brent Footway Crossover policy states that there should be a wall where there is no dropped kerb, the picture clearly shows the car is driving over the asphalt as the wall that was there previously has been knocked down, so this is in the interests of safety not just a aesthetic amenity defect. https://www.brent.gov.uk/ parking-roads-and-travel/ roads-and-streets/ vehicle-crossings-and-dropped-kerb/ guidance-notes-for-vehicle-crossings-and-dropped-kerb-application Thank you

This problem has now been inspected. Limited Council resources mean that it is not possible to repair each and every defect, and we have to prioritise cases that pose the most risk to the public so a further assessment by officers is required. We hope to make a decision on this repair within the next 14 days and provide a further update. If this defect is selected for repair, our contractor will have a further 28 days to carry out the work
Thank you for taking the time to report this defect and helping keep Brent a safer, more accessible place to live.

HELLO PLEASE CAN THIS BE PRIORITISED, the CAR CONSTANTLY BLOCKS THE FOOTWAY, AND AS YOU CAN SEE THE CAR IS DESTROYING THE PAVMENT AND THERE IS CONSTANTLY DEBRIS ON THE PAVEMENT TOO - NOT TO MENTION THE BLOCKS WHICH KEEP GETTING LOOSE AND GET THROWN AWAY BY THE OWNER. IT IS NOT FAIR FOR THEM TO DO THIS TO THE FOOTWAY. PLEASE REINSTATE DROPPED KERB AND INSTAL FLUTED BOLLARD TO ENSURE SAFETY, THEY ARE VERY CLEARLY NOT USING THE SROPPED KERB AND THIS HAS DAMAGED THE BLOCK PAVING. THANK YOU FOR KEEPING BRENT FOOTWAY SAFE AND ACCESIBLE. PHOTO ATTACHED AS PROOF

This defect was categorised as medium priority defect. To maximise the benefit to be achieved from available funding for medium priority defects we must prioritise locations of greater risk over others. Unfortunately on this occasion this defect was not prioritised for repair. However, we will continue to monitor this on our scheduled cyclic inspections and should it deteriorate further will be reassessed for possible selection for repair.
