Outside 13 Hassop Road

Reported via mobile in the Pavement damage category anonymously at 11:41, Tue 15 July 2025

Sent to Brent Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7879755.

I am writing to report a broken and uneven section of pavement outside my garage 13 Hassop Road which poses a serious hazard to both pedestrians and vehicles.

As a resident, I nearly tripped over the damaged surface recently, and I am concerned about the risk it poses to others—particularly elderly residents, children, or anyone with mobility issues. On top of that when it starts to rain or when cars are washed there’s a huge flood of water that doesn’t get drained because of the uneven pavement posing a more serious hazard. In addition to being a walking hazard, the uneven pavement is also making it difficult for vehicles to access my garages, as the surface is no longer level.

This issue not only affects safety but also restricts access for property owners. I kindly request that the council inspect and repair the pavement as soon as possible to prevent potential accidents or damage.

I’d appreciate confirmation that this issue is being looked into, and I am happy to provide photos or further details if required.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Updates

  • This problem has been received by our Highways Team. We plan to inspect within 10 days and provide an update.

    State changed to: Investigating

  • This problem has now been inspected. Limited Council resources mean that it is not possible to repair each and every defect, and we have to prioritise cases that pose the most risk to the public so a further assessment by officers is required. We hope to make a decision on this repair within the next 14 days and provide a further update. If this defect is selected for repair, our contractor will have a further 28 days to carry out the work

Thank you for taking the time to report this defect and helping keep Brent a safer, more accessible place to live.

  • This defect was categorised as medium priority defect. To maximise the benefit to be achieved from available funding for medium priority defects we must prioritise locations of greater risk over others. Unfortunately on this occasion this defect was not prioritised for repair. However, we will continue to monitor this on our scheduled cyclic inspections and should it deteriorate further will be reassessed for possible selection for repair.
