The Mall between The Garth and No 212 The Mall

Dear As you will be aware the paving stones on The Mall between The Garth and No 212 The Mall are in a terrible state. Many times I and many others (many elderly ) have tripped over them. There are paving stones sticking up and others broken. It’s an accident waiting to happen. I cannot believe that this has still not been done after many years, it is unacceptable.
There are many driveways with no drop downs! This means the residents are constantly driving across broken paving stones. making them a hazard for residents. You only have to look at ‘The Garth’ paving stones where car drivers park half on the pavements waiting to collect their children.
The pavement on The Mall should have been listed as a priority when Brent Council changed the paving stones for tarmac in Preston Hill. There is barely any footfall in Preston Hill, as you will know The Mall has a very high footfall. Tarmac would mitigate tripping hazards, of which there are plenty.
Most roads ie Regal Way, Lindsay park have all been done years ago and the driveways. I believe Regal Way has had the drives and paving stones renewed twice.?! I look forward to hearing from you.

This problem has been received by our Highways Team. We plan to inspect within 10 days and provide an update.

This problem has now been inspected. Limited Council resources mean that it is not possible to repair each and every defect, and we have to prioritise cases that pose the most risk to the public so a further assessment by officers is required. We hope to make a decision on this repair within the next 14 days and provide a further update. If this defect is selected for repair, our contractor will have a further 28 days to carry out the work

This defect was categorised as medium priority defect. To maximise the benefit to be achieved from available funding for medium priority defects we must prioritise locations of greater risk over others. Unfortunately on this occasion this defect was not prioritised for repair. However, we will continue to monitor this on our scheduled cyclic inspections and should it deteriorate further will be reassessed for possible selection for repair.
