Rat infestation

Reported via mobile in the Fly-tipping category anonymously at 07:08, Wednesday 30 October 2024

Sent to Brent Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6673911.

The alleyway connecting Southview Avenue and Neaden Lane, which provides access to Northview Junior and Infant School, has been plagued by a disturbing accumulation of trash over the years. This situation has now reached an intolerable level, forcing residents and children to walk through and breathe in the foul air from the piles of waste lining both sides of the alley. This environment is not only filthy but also harmful to our lungs, especially for the children who use this route to school and for neighbors heading to the tube station. Even more concerning is the increasing presence of rats running across the alleyway. The trash along the rail tracks and private fenced areas indicates a worsening rodent problem that could escalate into a serious infestation if not addressed immediately. This situation is both unsightly and poses a significant health risk to the children, families, and residents of our community. I am requesting a thorough clean up of all trash materials along both sides of the path—not just the removal of a few plastic bottles or trimming of some weeds. A full and comprehensive cleaning is urgently needed to resolve this problem. If nothing is done about this, I will escalate this to the media and press. Similar complaint was lodged by someone else this Summer.
